Peru�s official language is Spanish, though English is generally used as a communication alternative.

Vaccine shots are not required for your visit to Lima and there aren�t any poisonous plants or animals to be worried about. Most medicine and prescribed drugs are easily available.

Credit cards are accepted in tourist and commercial centers. The most common are Visa, Master Card, Diners Club and American Express.

As for clothing, it is best to bring light, casual clothes when visiting Lima as well as a swimsuit in the months between November and April (from 18°C to 28°C/ 64.4°F to 82.4°F). Between the months of May and October, the weather is quite humid and colder (from 15° to 22°C / 59°F to 71.6°F) so warmer clothes are recommended.

Check your camera batteries before departing so as not to miss any important shots.

Bring a water bottle with you at all times for your walks around the city in order to prevent dehydration.

Do not forget to write down any important telephone numbers, in case of an emergency.

Bring a map with you with all the routes and destinations marked as well as public transportation options, especially if you decide to visit the city on your own.
